Safety Watch 

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform on-site safety watch, confined space entry watch and atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.

• Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.

• Follow and be an advocate for all rules, policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, company health, safety and environmental program, and all other applicable legislation.

• Intervene in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to influence safe behaviors and to create a safe working environment.

The primary responsibility of Safety Watch is to focus on the personal safety of any people in the vicinity under his/her surveillance including occasional visitors as well as workers assigned to the work site.

 

• The successful candidate MUST HAVE VALID 

• H2S Alive 

• Standard First Aid/CPR Level C

• Confined Space entry and Rescue

• Fall Protection

• Clean Non GDL class 5 driver’s license

 

Medical Personnel – AFA, OFA3, EMR, PCP, and ACP  

The primary goal of the on scene medic is to meet emergency medical treatment needs.  Medical personnel may be required to resuscitate and stabilize patients by using basic life support techniques, administer drips, drugs and oxygen as per protocols, apply splints and assist with patient transfers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care in accordance with scope of practice/SMF protocols

  • Maintain cleanliness of MTC Truck at ALL times

  • Adhere to SFM Safe Work Practices and Hazard ID Procedures

  • Coordinate STARS site if needed

  • Generate daily ERP from site to nearest medical aid

  • Fill out daily  paperwork (Safety meeting with head count, daily operation reports, AED checklist, hazard identification, accident/incident if applicable)

  • Sign in/out personnel on location

  • Patient Care

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • H2S

  • Standard First Aid

  • PST

  • Driver’s License

  • Clean Commercial Driver Abstract

  • ACP Registered 

  • Grade 12 education certificate or equivalent

  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English (oral and written)

  • Be able to effectively handle and respond to stressful/emergency situations

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry

  • Be fluent in Industry Recommended Practices, local, provincial, federal regulatory requirements

  • Be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are an asset

  • Be able to effectively handle and respond to stressful/emergency situations

  • Ability to read and interpret information given

  • Learn and apply new information or skills

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Plan, organize and implement a number of duties and reports

  • Ability to travel areas of Alberta and other provences and territories for extended periods of time on an ongoing basis

High Angle Rescue Technician

The primary function of the High Angle Rescue Technician is to provide technical rescue standby including confined space rescue and technical rope rescue. The High Angle Rescue Tech will assist in assessing risks, preparing rescue equipment, planning practical and effective solutions towards safe work practices that are in compliance with OHS/OSHA and client standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all rules and regulations as per the OH&S Code, SFM guidelines, and client specific codes of practice.

• Inspect, inventory and document (on SFM rescue equipment inspections logs) High Angle Rescue equipment (according to manufactures instructions) to ensure all equipment is ready to use. This inspection is to be conducted prior to leaving the station, upon arrival at location, daily (start of each shift) and once the equipment is returned to the Station.

• Work as Safety Watch or Safety Technician when no rescue jobs are in progress.

• Set up and test communications and alarm systems.

• Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and take down both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.

• Lead, demonstrate and encourage a positive safety culture, where safety is an integral element to every task.

• Must have the ability to effectively work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks. This includes the ability to problem solve, utilizing interpersonal skills while maintaining a level of professionalism at all times.

• Follow all SFM policies and procedures as per the P&T Manual.

• Maintain a training log to show competency of rescue skills and attend a skills refresher at required intervals.

• Previous rope rescue experience IRATA /SPRAT can be considered)

• Standard field level tickets: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSTS-09

• Physically capable of working in adverse environments and conditions

Breathing Air Trailer Technicians

We are currently recruiting experienced Breathing Air Trailer Technicians for upcoming projects. 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  •  Operate breathing air trailer as per SFM Policies and Procedures. 

  •  Supply breathing air to workers in hazardous environments;

  •  Rig in / rig out breathing air trailer.

  •  Provide support to ensure that all on-site personnel work in a safe manner and comply with company and regulatory/legislative requirements for Occupational Health & Safety.

  •  Follow and be an advocate for all  policies and procedures as per the client’s health and safety program, SFM health, safety and enviromental program, and all other applicable legislation.

  •  Intervene in unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to influence safe behaviors and to create a safe working environment.

Safety Course Instructor(s) - Part time

Seeking positive, hardworking, driven team player to join our team at Safety First.

Licensed Security Guards 

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform on-site security services.

•Duties could include but not limited to;

1) Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.


2) Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

3) Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

4) Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

5) Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

6) Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.

7) Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, when necessary.

8) Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.

9) Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection.

10) Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
